Program Evaluations
Program Evaluations for Safety and Transportation Services were presented to the Board. Highlights of the Safety Program include the implementation of a Visitor Management System at all sites, upgrading of camera systems, improving secure entry at GHS and GMS and survey results indicating that students feel safe at school, feel they are prepared for emergencies, and know how to report unsafe situations. The Transportation Program Evaluation reported that the Transportation Department received 97.6% on the State Vehicle Safety inspection, total district miles in 2018-19 was approximately 425,000, training for drivers and bus paraprofessionals exceeded state requirements, and reports of concerns from parents dropped 38% from the previous year.
Strategic Plan Mid-Year Review
Administration reviewed progress toward goals in the Focus Areas of Student Success, Workplace Excellence, Resource Stewardship & Organizational Efficiency, Family and Community Involvement and Strategic Governance. Progress is determined by the percentage of action steps that are in progress or complete.
Official January Enrollment
Each year DESE requires all school districts to submit official enrollment on the last Wednesday in September and January. The official enrollment count for Grandview C4 on January 30, 2020 was 4052. This is an increase of one students over the official enrollment count report in January 2019.
Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Report
The Board received the annual EEO report for calendar year 2019 which provides information regarding employment distribution by race and gender in job classifications. The district has 29% minority representation in the professional administrative staff and 60% of the administrative positions are held by women. District teaching staff increased by five minorities during 2019. The minority representation for all employees for 2019 was 29.90%.
