Safety Screenings
The Board approved the continuing practice of conducting security screenings throughout the 2022-23 school year at secondary schools. Since initiating random unannounced security screenings six years ago discipline incidents involving possession of weapons as defined in policy JFCJ have shown a significant drop.
Exit Surveys
The Board reviewed data from retiring or resigning employees as one data point to help inform administration about why employees leave the district. Analysis of the data showed strengths of the district include; engaged students, community support, passionate teachers, diversity, competitive salary and a unified leadership team. Opportunities for improvement included; managing the workload, improved communication, improved professional learning opportunities, parent involvement and support/accountability for students with behavioral issues.
Budget Document for 2022-23
A comprehensive budget document is produced and publicized annually to provide a projected financial status of the district. Administration annually develops a three-year forecast, currently through fiscal year 2024-25, which identifies anticipated needs for increases or adjustments of revenues and expenses. The document will be posted on the district website under the Finance Department.
Cornerstones of Care Update
Cornerstones of Care personnel shared with the Board a final update for the 2021-2022 school year on the social/emotional supports that were provided to the District. The District has continued to partner with Cornerstones of Care to provide a multi-level partnership which includes: training and professional development, provision of direct services including mental health services, social-emotional wellness groups and service navigation, semi-annual universal social emotional health screenings, and the establishment of a social work internship program.
