School Improvement Plans
The principal of the Center for Alternative Instructional Resources (CAIR) presented the CAIR School Improvement Plan. School data, root cause analyses, and results of their 30/60/90 day plan, as well as adjustments made to their plan based upon those results were shared with the Board. Goals include increasing student achievement in English Language Arts and Math, and improvements in building culture and climate.
Missouri School Improvement Program Version 6
The Board received information on the latest version of the Missouri School Improvement Program, the state’s accountability system for reviewing and accrediting school districts, referred o as MSIP 6. This update focused on the requirements and scoring rubric related to districts’ strategic plans, typically referred to as the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan, or CSIP. Part of the scoring rubric includes evidence of regular review of the strategic plan by the Board of Education.
Program Evaluations
District programs are evaluated annually or biennially to determine progress toward meeting goals and making recommendations for improvement. Program Evaluations for Library/Media Centers, the A+ Program, and Career & Technical Education were presented to the Board.
Facilities Projects
The Board approved the purchase of playground equipment in Phase 2 of upgrading all playgrounds in the district. Phase 2 affects Martin City K8, Meadowmere Elementary, and High Grove Early Childhood Center. Additionally, the Board approved a contract for the Grandview High School roofing project.
School Calendar for 2023-2024
The Board approved the calendar for school year 2023-24. The calendar is substantially similar to the current year calendar with two notable changes: October parent/teacher conferences will be one week earlier and spring break will be the last week in March.
