Notice of Board Election

The filing dates for the April 2, 2019 general election for candidates to the Grandview C4 Board of Education are Tuesday, December 18, 2018 through Tuesday, January 15, 2019. There are two positions available with three-year terms. Dates, times and qualifications can be found on the district web site at by clicking here.

School Improvement Plans (SIPs)

The Board heard the SIP presentation from the principals of the High Grove Early Childhood Center (HGECC) and Grandview High School (GHS). HGECC goals include enhancing the relationships between home and school, student development of capacity to regulate emotional or behavioral reactions, and student ability to develop an understanding of numbers and quantity. Goals for GHS include increasing student proficiency, and college/career readiness, building instructional capacity of teachers, and promoting a positive school culture.

Annual Audit Report

A representative from the auditing firm DSWA presented the Audit Report for the 2017-18 year showing a clean audit with no material weaknesses or significant findings.  Additionally, DSWA noted that a financial strength of the District is that it is well below the constitutional debt limit. 

Security Upgrades

The Board approved a contract for security vestibules at Grandview High School and Grandview Middle School.  Installation will begin while the schools are closed for winter break.

District Survey

The Board reviewed results of a Patron Insight survey regarding perceptions about the district’s image and communication efforts.  Highest scores were given to performance of teachers, performance of principals, performance of the superintendent and communicating school safety.  Areas indicating most need for improvement were school facilities and responsiveness to concerns.
